Your Clothes and Confidence :

Aug 17, 2007

Magazines and television, so obsessed with makeover stories, would have us believe that it’s the clothes that make the woman . Businesswomen wear suits, cops wear uniforms and strippers wear, well, strippers wear nearly nothing at all. So maybe it really is the woman that makes the clothes.

Are you happy and confident in your own skin? If the answer is no, let eDiets help you take the first step toward looking good and feeling great. Getting healthy is a definite confidence booster! Click here to complete a free profile.

What we wear is an outward representation of who we are inside, and many women try to emulate the styles of others. When the results don’t match the imitated model, they lose the confidence to really make the style work. “Being threatened by other women -- and their perceived perfections -- makes it tougher for you to appreciate and play up your own assets,” Los Angeles hypnotherapist Nancy Irwin says.

So ladies, make the style your own by mixing the current trends with an old favorite. Take the lacy top that looked so good in the magazine and match it with those jeans you love that make your butt look so cute .

Take clues from the styles you see and use them in a way that lets your personal style and beauty shine through. Use what works for you and what makes you comfortable and sexy. The confidence that comes from that is what will ultimately bring the outfit together.

When in doubt, just rock it out. Everyone has that really sexy top that looked so good in the store and when it got home it just sat in the closet. Friday night rolls around and you’re headed out so you pull that top out and you think, “Oh it’s so sexy but, I don’t know,” and it goes right back in the closet, waiting till the next time you almost wear it out. When in doubt, rock it out, also applies to the way you walk.

“Master a confident stride. It oozes self-assuredness, and nothing’s sexier than that,” says psychologist Sheenah Hankin, PhD, author of Complete Confidence. If you think you look good in it, you probably do, so don’t hesitate. Just go for it, and your confidence will shine and heads are going to turn.
