You Give Thanks to the Troops :

Jul 11, 2007

Though it rained heavily on Independence Day in South Florida, that certainly didn't dampen my sense of patriotism. I was humbled to have been given the opportunity to send a heartfelt message of gratitude and support to our troops this 4th of July. (In case you missed it, you can click here to read the article.) I am so honored to have had my father interred at Arlington National Cemetery, because I truly consider the men and women in our military to be among the finest people on Earth.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Ever since the story ran, your emails have been pouring in! Below are just some of the many messages we have received for the troops. Now that the 4th of July is over, let's remember to keep the members of our military and their families in our thoughts and prayers.

eDiets Senior WriterAs the spouse of a soldier who has been gone for almost two years with the Minnesota National Guard, I would like to thank you for having this article. It never ceases to amaze me how ungrateful people are, careless in their remarks and completely oblivious to the life we have lead for the time he has been gone.

I am proud of my husband and what he is doing and has done. But I will say, it is a feeling that cannot be described, when true credit and appreciation is given. That is all they ask for!

Thank you for having this article, and I hope you continue to support the troops and their families every day and not just on holidays -- as it is what we live every day and the holidays are just the more bittersweet. To the troops serving and their families, I thank them too for their service and sacrifice. I am grateful to be part of such an elite "family!"

Words cannot express how grateful and supportive I am of our military troops. They sacrifice time with their families to preserve the everyday freedoms we take for granted. It is a price few are willing to pay in order to keep our country free. I stand behind each and every one of you who are over there, going there or coming home. We, as the American public, cannot say, do, or be enough to thank you all for what you are doing or have done.

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your bravery and courage. I pray that everyone will come home soon!!!

Just want to thank all the troops fighting for us in different places all over the world. Your service is so appreciated, and I pray for your safe return to your families in the near future. Keep hanging in there and please know that you are supported by the people of the U.S.A. God Bless You all! Because of you, we are free.
Blessings and Love, J.D.
