Zymax is a brand name for a diet pill which contains a variety of common weight loss product herbal ingredients, including ephedra (has been replaced since ban, see ephedra-free page), 5-HTP, L-carnitine, chromium picolinate, garcinia campogia and many others. Zymax is designed to produce a thermogenic effect, which means that it increases metabolism in order to burn calories without changes in diet or physical activity. The problem is, over-the-counter weight loss supplements which contain this list of ingredients are known to elicit side-effects which make taking them long-term unreasonable.
